OCEAN FREIGHT

OCEAN FREIGHT FROM CHINA

What is Sea Freight?

Sea freight involves transporting large-scale cargo via carrier ships. Goods are packaged into containers and loaded onto vessels. Given that a typical cargo ship can carry up to 18,000 containers, sea shipping is an economical choice for moving substantial quantities over long distances. It offers diverse handling methods to meet various cargo requirements.

FACTORS AFFECTING SHIPPING COST & TIME

Chinese, American, or European festivals can significantly impact logistics pricing and timelines. During key Chinese holidays, freight shipments often fill up days in advance due to extended vacation periods, leading to increased demand and higher shipping costs.
Miracle Logistics Expert Advice:
  • Plan Early: Schedule cargo delivery well ahead of Chinese New Year to secure space and avoid delays.
  • Understand Peak Seasons: Major festivals like Chinese New Year, Christmas, or Thanksgiving can cause congestion and longer transit times.
  • Leverage Local Knowledge: Our team uses decades of experience to navigate market fluctuations and optimize shipping time from China.
Failing to account for these factors may result in prolonged delivery delays. Partner with Miracle Logistics to mitigate risks and ensure cost-effective, timely shipments.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR FCL FREIGHT SHIPPING

Full Container Load (FCL) involves renting an entire container for your cargo. Here’s what you need to know:

Container Specifications

  • 20ft Container:
    • Internal Capacity: 28 cubic meters
    • Ideal for heavy goods (e.g., machinery, bulk items).
  • 40ft Container:
    • Internal Capacity: 68 cubic meters (double the 20ft size).
    • Suitable for larger or lighter cargo.
  • Weight Limits:
    • Both 20ft and 40ft containers in Chinese ports typically have a maximum payload of 27–28 tons.

Advantages of FCL

  • Cost Efficiency: Economical for large shipments filling a container.
  • Speed: Avoids delays from consolidating/deconsolidating cargo (common in LCL).
  • Security: Your container remains sealed throughout transit (except for customs inspections).
Miracle Logistics Expert Tip: Partner with us to optimize container usage and select the right size for your cargo, ensuring cost savings and seamless logistics from China.

HOW MANY CARTONS PER PALLET, HOW MANY PALLETS PER CONTAINER?

CONSIDERATIONS FOR LCL FREIGHT SHIPPING

If your shipment cannot fill an entire container, Miracle Logistics’ LCL shipping service from China is always available. Your goods are sent to our warehouse in China, where we consolidate multiple shipments into a single container for loading at the port and delivery to your specified destination.

How LCL Works

  • Shared Space: Your cargo shares a container with goods from other companies.
  • Process:
    1. Goods are packed at our China warehouse.
    2. Container is shipped to the destination port.
    3. Cargo is unpacked and distributed to respective consignees.

Transit Time

LCL delivery may take slightly longer than FCL due to consolidation/deconsolidation processes. Actual timelines depend on port efficiency and destination.

Cost Calculation

  • Charged by volumetric weight (volume vs. actual weight, whichever is greater).
  • Minimum freight charge applies per cubic meter (CBM).

Ideal for Small Shipments

LCL is recommended for shipments between 0–15 CBM, though thresholds may vary by departure port.
